April 17, 2022, 6:30 PM — Zoroaster Temple and Brahma Temple are just two of the prominent formations visible from Yaki Point. Located a few miles east of Grand Canyon Village, Yaki Point offers visitors a distinctly different perspective of the Grand Canyon. Unlike the popular overlooks at Grandview, Yavapai and Mather Points, Yaki Point occupies a separate promontory, providing sweeping views of the canyon’s dramatic formations and distant ridgelines.

As the sun approached the western horizon, warm evening light illuminated the canyon’s distant formations. Subtle shafts of sunlight filtered through the atmosphere, creating layers of light and shadow that emphasized the immense depth of the Grand Canyon.

This focus-stacked panoramic photograph was captured using a Canon R5 and Canon 70–200mm lens at 200mm, f/13, 1/200 second and ISO 400. A total of 549 focus-bracketed exposures were processed into 175 focus-stacked images, which were subsequently stitched into the final panorama. The panorama consists of five rows and 35 columns, photographed in portrait orientation with approximately 30% overlap.
