Standard Commercial Image License Terms
Abba’s Creations Photography
These Standard Commercial Image License Terms describe the general conditions under which photographs by John Freeman / Abba’s Creations Photography may be licensed for commercial reproduction, including architectural installations, wall murals, wall coverings, panels, displays and other specifically authorized applications.
Each commercial project is licensed for its specifically authorized use. Project-specific information such as the photograph, End Customer, installation location, production-file resolution, license fee and any special terms may be identified in an invoice, license agreement, schedule or other written authorization.
One photograph licensed for one End Customer project at one physical location constitutes one Licensed Installation. A continuous mural or installation may consist of multiple panels, sheets, sections or other components without requiring a separate image license for each component.
1. License Grant
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, commercial image licenses from Abba’s Creations Photography are limited, non-exclusive licenses to reproduce the authorized photograph for the specifically approved commercial installation or application.
The license permits the photograph to be reproduced as necessary to manufacture and complete the authorized installation. Printers, fabricators, installers and other contractors may receive access to the production file only as reasonably necessary to complete the licensed project.
Each additional End Customer project, physical location or additional installation requires a separate license unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Production Files and Image Resolution
Many photographs available from Abba’s Creations Photography contain hundreds of megapixels or several gigapixels of native resolution. Licensing a photograph does not automatically include delivery of the highest-resolution master file.
A Production File will normally be prepared at a resolution reasonably appropriate for the intended installation dimensions, anticipated viewing distance, substrate and production process. License pricing for architectural-scale applications is based on the resolution of the Production File required for the project rather than simply the maximum native resolution of the original photograph.
Production files below 100 megapixels may be priced competitively with conventional commercial stock photography based on the intended use and licensing requirements.

3. Permitted Production Adjustments
Reasonable technical adjustments necessary to manufacture the licensed installation are permitted. These may include resizing, cropping, sharpening, color correction, color-profile conversion, file-format conversion, panelization and similar production adjustments.
The artistic character of the photograph may not be materially altered, significant visual elements may not be added or removed, and generative artificial-intelligence tools may not be used to modify the photograph without prior written approval from Abba’s Creations Photography.
4. Copyright and Ownership
All photographs and digital image files remain the copyrighted property of John Freeman / Abba’s Creations Photography. A commercial image license grants only the specific reproduction rights expressly authorized for the licensed project. Copyright and ownership of the underlying photographic artwork are not transferred.
The End Customer may own the completed physical mural, wall covering, panel or other installation, but ownership of that physical product does not include ownership of the copyright or unrestricted rights to reproduce the underlying photograph.
5. Restrictions
Except where specifically authorized in writing, a licensed photograph, Preview File or Production File may not be:
- Sold, sublicensed, redistributed, loaned, transferred or otherwise provided as a stand-alone digital image file.
- Used to produce an additional mural, wall covering, print, product or installation for another customer or physical location.
- Used for stock-photography, digital-download or independent image-licensing services.
- Used to produce unrelated consumer merchandise, products or other applications not included in the authorized license.
- Used to train, develop, test, validate, fine-tune or provide input to an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model, dataset, image generator or similar system.
- Represented as being copyrighted or owned by the Licensee, End Customer or another party.
6. End Customer Rights
The End Customer may permanently possess, display and maintain the completed physical installation at the licensed location.
The End Customer may photograph or video the completed installation and surrounding space for ordinary documentation, publicity, real-estate, corporate, institutional, editorial, social-media and similar purposes incidental to ownership or occupancy of the premises.
These rights do not permit the End Customer to extract or independently reproduce the underlying photograph as a new mural, wall covering, print, digital asset or other product.
7. Repair, Maintenance and Replacement
Damaged, defective, worn or removed portions of an existing Licensed Installation may be reproduced as reasonably necessary to repair or replace the original installation without an additional image license, provided the replacement remains at the same licensed physical location and does not create an additional installation.
A complete reprint may also be made when reasonably necessary because of manufacturing defect, installation damage, casualty, renovation, normal wear or similar replacement circumstances, provided the new reproduction replaces rather than supplements the original installation.
Reproduction at an additional location, for another End Customer, or as an additional installation rather than a replacement constitutes a new licensed use.
8. Production File Security
Production Files may be provided to employees, printers, fabricators, installers and other authorized contractors only to the extent reasonably necessary to manufacture or install the licensed project. Reasonable measures must be used to protect Production Files from unauthorized access, copying, distribution or use.
A Production File may be retained where reasonably necessary for recordkeeping or authorized repair, maintenance or replacement of the original installation, but it may not be reused for another installation without an additional license. Production Files no longer reasonably required for an authorized purpose should be securely deleted.
9. Preview Files and Project Mockups
Reduced-resolution Preview Files may be provided or authorized for image selection, customer presentations, proposals, quotations, architectural and interior-design mockups, catalogs and similar project-development purposes.
Preview Files are not Production Files and may not be used to manufacture a commercial installation. They may not be made available for unrestricted public downloading or unrelated third-party use.
10. Credit and Attribution
Where commercially reasonable, photographic credit should be given as John Freeman / Abba’s Creations Photography. Credit is particularly encouraged in websites, catalogs, case studies, project descriptions, editorial materials, trade-show materials and similar applications in which artistic or photographic credits are customarily provided.
A photographer credit is not normally required to be physically printed on the mural, wall covering or other completed installation unless specifically agreed in writing.
11. License Fees
For architectural-scale applications of 100 megapixels and above, license pricing is based on the resolution of the Production File actually required for the project. The customer therefore does not need to license the entire resolution of a multi-gigapixel master photograph when the installation requires substantially less resolution.
The following table provides reference retail license prices at common production-file resolutions:

12. Repeat Commercial and Volume Licensing
Custom licensing arrangements may be developed for manufacturers, art consultants, architectural and interior-design firms, fabricators and other qualified repeat commercial customers. These arrangements may include negotiated volume pricing, portfolio access, Preview Files for customer presentations and other terms appropriate to an ongoing commercial relationship.
Each new commercial installation remains a licensed use unless a written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
13. Special Uses and Exclusivity
Licenses are non-exclusive unless exclusivity is specifically negotiated and agreed in writing. Requests involving exclusivity, multiple locations, unusual reproduction rights, specialized products or applications outside these standard terms will be considered individually.
14. Project-Specific Agreements
These Standard Commercial Image License Terms provide a general description of the licensing principles used by Abba’s Creations Photography. A particular transaction may be governed by an invoice, written license, Commercial Image Reproduction License Agreement, schedule, purchase authorization or other written agreement specifying the photograph, authorized use, End Customer, location, production resolution, license fee and any project-specific conditions.
If project-specific written terms differ from these general website terms, the project-specific written agreement controls for that project.
Discuss Your Project
Every architectural installation is different. Finished dimensions, viewing distance, substrate, fabrication method and the native resolution of the selected photograph can all affect the appropriate Production File.
If you have a project in mind, contact John Freeman with the photograph you are considering, approximate installation dimensions, expected viewing distance and any production requirements supplied by your fabricator.
