Sept. 28, 2025 – Multnomah Falls had long been on my list of landscapes to photograph at gigapixel resolution for large-scale wall murals. Located in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge, this iconic waterfall presented an ideal subject for extreme-resolution photography. The resulting 11.4-gigapixel panorama is my second-largest gigapixel photograph and preserves extraordinary detail throughout the falls, surrounding cliffs, vegetation, and historic Benson Bridge.

Creating the panorama required 630 individual 45-megapixel focus-stacked photographs, selected from 8,050 focus-bracketed exposures. I photographed the scene with a Canon EOS R5 and Canon 100–400mm lens mounted on a Nodal Ninja M2 panoramic head and sturdy tripod. The resulting image contains 11.4 gigapixels of genuine captured detail—not AI-generated enlargement.
