Wanaka Lavender Farm

April 21, 2026 – During our time in Wanaka one of the locations we wanted to revisit was the Lavender Farm. The Wanaka Lavender Farm is a fun place to take photos in Wanaka. It’s definitely best in summer when the lavender is in full bloom! In autumn, when we visited recently, the trees were shades of orange, red and yellow, and roses and dahlias are still blooming. We first visited this location in January, 2019 on our first trip to NZ. The lavender was in full bloom and the honey bees were abuzz gathering nectar. The lavender honey they sold in the store was amazing! We went back this time because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The fall colors inspired me to shoot this wall mural.
The original full sized photo is derived from 1790 focus bracketed images yielding 124 focus stacked images in a 4 row x 31 column array. I shoot this using my Canon R5 Mark 2, RF 100-400mm zoon lens at 300mm lens, f/11, 1/125th sec., ISO 100.

- Standard Plaque prints are available in four Finish Choices. Finishes are acid-free and ultra violet (UV) light protected, shielding it against fading and deterioration and can be wiped down with water or any ammonia-free cleaners.
- We highly recommend the Metalized Paper for prints, plaques and PlexiPlaq products. This special paper does an excellent job of bringing out the detail of the photos.
- All of our plaques are produced by Duraplaq on photo quality High Density boards. Numerous Mounting Styles are available along with many Edge Treatments.
- Approximate lead time for shipping of Prints is 1 week. Plaque mounts and other options 2 weeks.
