Cathedral Cove Waterfall
Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand
May 2, 2026 — There is a small (very small) waterfall, probably best described as a trickle really at the southern end of the beach. Fed by a seasonal stream, it is truly just a trickle in the autumn season when we were there. But fun for the kids, and a nice fresh water shower if you want to wash the salt off.
Cathedral Cove is a stunning natural wonder located on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand’s North Island. It is a place of extraordinary beauty and is renowned for its picturesque views, pristine beaches, and unique rock formations. The cove is named after its arched cavern that resembles a cathedral’s interior, making it one of the most iconic landmarks in New Zealand.
