Sept. 18, 2025 – Wanting to photograph some of the well known Sea Stacks along the Pacific coast we booked into the Quileute First Beach RV park for a few nights. The first morning I got up for sunrise and this is the scene I found. A fog bank was parked about 2 miles offshore. As the sun rose it lit up the fog in glorious purples and pink colors while the early morning light illuminated the beach in nice warm light. Wanting to include one of the huge driftwood logs as a foreground I sat up near this one and enabled focus bracketing on my camera. Targeting for a minimum of 1 gigapixel, I zoomed in to 300mm, f/11, 1/25th of a sec. exposure time and ISO 100. This image is made up of 2031 focus bracketed images that yielded a 3 x 23 array of 69 focus stacked images.
