About Abba’s Creations Photography

Abba’s Creations Photography is led by Colorado photographer John Freeman, a specialist in ultra‑high‑resolution gigapixel landscape photography and mural‑scale fine art wall images. Based in Longmont, Colorado, John creates expansive panoramic photographs that reveal extraordinary detail and scale—images designed for large interiors, commercial installations, churches, healthcare environments, offices, and private collectors.

Who We Are

John Freeman is a lifelong photographer whose journey with the camera began in 1964 at the age of 13, when he received his first camera, a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. Growing up in Wyoming, he developed an early appreciation for wide‑open landscapes and the grandeur of the American West—particularly the Teton Mountains, which continue to inspire his work today.

After high school, John worked briefly as a television cameraman, gaining hands‑on experience with professional imaging, videography, and darkroom techniques. Although career and family responsibilities eventually led him into a successful career as an electro‑mechanical engineer, photography remained a constant passion. The transition to digital photography in the 2000s reignited his creative focus and opened the door to advanced imaging techniques that would later define his work.

What Is Gigapixel Photography

Gigapixel photography refers to images that contain over one billion pixels. These photographs are created by carefully capturing hundreds or even thousands of individual high‑resolution images and digitally stitching them together into a single seamless panorama.

At Abba’s Creations Photography, gigapixel techniques allow John Freeman to produce:

  • Extremely detailed panoramic landscapes
  • Wall murals that can be printed at very large sizes without loss of clarity
  • Fine art images suitable for immersive interior spaces

This process combines precision capture, focus stacking, panoramic stitching, and meticulous post‑processing to achieve results that traditional photography cannot.

What We Specialize In

Abba’s Creations Photography specializes in:

  • Gigapixel panoramic landscape photography
  • Ultra‑high‑resolution wall murals
  • Large‑format fine art landscape prints
  • Custom commissioned photographic installations
  • Educational workshops in panoramic and gigapixel photography techniques

John’s technical background enables him to handle the complex imaging workflows required for gigapixel photography, including custom camera systems, precision capture methods, and high‑end digital processing.

Purpose and Vision

Abba’s Creations Photography was founded in 2011 with the purpose of using photography to reflect the beauty, scale, and intricacy of the natural world. John views photography as a way to share the handiwork of the Creator, producing images that invite viewers to slow down, explore fine detail, and experience landscapes in a deeper and more immersive way.

A portion of the work produced through Abba’s Creations Photography supports Christian ministries and mission efforts, aligning the business with values of service, stewardship, and creativity.

Favorite Bible Verses:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:1-5

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. – Psalm 19: 1-6

About Our Business Name:

Abba is an Aramaic word (the language spoken by Jesus in Biblical times) that most closely translates to our modern word Daddy. As a Believer in Jesus Christ, the Bible teaches that we can reach out to the Father addressing Him as Abba. Thus, our business name, Abba’s Creations Photography translates to Daddy’s Creations photography.

One of the things I always try to be aware of is, when I look through the view finder, that the image I see is, in every case, the handy work of our Creator God, the God of the Bible. As I frame my shot and prepare to take a photo, it is always in the back of my mind that I am capturing His handiwork. I strive to honor Him with every photo I take by doing my best to take a photo that exhibits the wonder of our Creator’s awesome creation.
