Sunset on the Sneffels Range

Oct. 3, 2023. 6:25pm. — The fall of 2020 we were in the Ridgway area for our semi-annual fall colors photography trip. We had lunch with my friend and former co-worker David O. and he mentioned to me that the ridge northwest of Ridgway had some excellent views of the San Juan/Sneffels Range. This year he provided me with some GPS locations and we made a point of visiting those locations and view was spectacular. So much so that we made a special trip back for a sunset shot of the Sneffels Range. Wanting to capture this is as high a resolution wall mural as possible I borrowed my friend Reed’s newly purchased Canon R series 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM zoom lens.
This is a stitched image shot with a Canon R5, 400mm lens at f/11, 1/160th sec., ISO 400. It is made up of 246 images , 6 rows x 41 columns 30% overlap in portrait orientation.
