Salmon Glacier

July 22, 2017, On our way to Alaska, we stayed two nights at Meziaden Lake BC. We drove into Hyder, Alaska via Stewart, BC and then up a gravel road past Fish Creek that crosses back in to Canada to view the Salmon Glacer. Sometimes I am not sure whether to call my photos Fine Art or Nature Photography. This photo documents one of the few glaciers in North America that you can virtually drive to. The length of the visible portion of the glacier in this shot is about 3 miles. It is about 1/3 of a mile wide at the first major bend.

This panorama is made up of 98 individual images shot with Sony A7Rii, Canon 70-200mm lens @ 148mm, f-16/ 1/400th sec. ISO 800. Final image measures 13ft, 6 in. x 5 ft., 4 in.

  • Standard Plaque prints are available in four Finish Choices. Finishes are acid-free and ultra violet (UV) light protected, shielding it against fading and deterioration and can be wiped down with water or any ammonia-free cleaners.
  • We highly recommend the Metalized Paper for prints, plaques and PlexiPlaq products. This special paper does an excellent job of bringing out the detail of the photos.
  • All of our plaques are produced by Duraplaq on photo quality High Density boards. Numerous Mounting Styles are available along with many Edge Treatments.
  • Approximate lead time for shipping of Prints is 1 week. Plaque mounts and other options 2 weeks.
