Morning Light on Fall Colors and Flat Irons

Oct. 15, 2022. 7:15 AM. — The hiking trail from Coot Lake along the northeast shore of Boulder Reservoir is a popular hiking area for the folks around Boulder. I had seen photographs taken from this location and thought it would be an excellent site from which to shoot a wall mural of the fall colors with the early morning light illuminating the Flat Irons. I had been monitoring weather reports and this morning was predicted to be fair weather. I got up early and drove to the location.
This image made up of 2362 individual is a focus bracketed images yielding 144 individual images (6 rows x 24 columns) that were then stitched to create the final image. Shot with Canon R5, Sigma 150-600mm lens at 403mm, f/11, 1/125 sec., ISO 400
