Sept. 16, 2018. 7:10 PM. — Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite spots to try to capture sunset shots. My friend Peter and I had been out shooting photos in other areas of the park and decided to finish the day at Bear Lake. As the setting sun shone it’s last light on the top of Longs Peak the clouds overhead turned pink. The warm light reflecting off of the clouds made the fall colors of the aspens pop. The reflection of the clouds on the water filtered the whiter colors and gave the pinks and purples of the reflected clouds a very pleasing effect. The only thing missing in the 8 ft. x 16 ft wall mural is the smell of the pine trees on a beautiful fall evening.
Image was shot with Canon 5DSR, 70-200mm lense @ 200mm, f/11, 1/5th, 1/25th & .6 sec. bracketed exposure, ISO 200. It is made up of 90 HDR images, 5 rows x 18 columns appoximately 33% overlap in portrait orientation.
