Boya Lake Sunrise

Boya Lake Provincial Park, Steward Cassiar Highway, Northern BC, Canada

July 23, 2017, On our way to Alaska, we stayed at Boya Lake BC. Boya Lake Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located 120 km north-by-northwest of the community of Dease Lake, British Columbia near BC Highway 37 (the Stewart-Cassiar Highway). Boya Lake is named for Charlie Boya, a First Nations man from the area. The next morning the lake was so beautiful that I just had to set up my camera and attempt to capture the scene that God painted for us.

This is a panorama stitched from 112 individual shots using my Sony A7Rii. It is 1.7 Gigapixels measuring 5-3/4 ft. x 23 ft. (1.75m x 7m). It is one of the largest images I have done. It was especially difficult due to high dynamic range of light from rising sun to dark areas on far right. The Sony A7Rii made it possible using a Canon 70-200mm lens @ 200mm, f-32/ 1/1000th sec. ISO 800.

The image as shown is:

  • 1.705 Gigapixels
  • 20688 x 82752 pixels
  • 69″ x 276″ 300 ppi original image size
  • Available in 1:4 ratio up to 24″ x 96″ on Standard Plaque
  • Available in 1:4 ratio up to 24″ x 96″ on AlumaPress
  • Quad-Panels in 1:4 ration up to 48″ x 192″ in either Std. Plaque or AlumaPress
  • Wall Murals up to 8 ft. x 32 ft.
