This shot was moments after sunrise on morning of Oct. 1, 2016 at Dallas Overlook west of Ridgway, CO. The first low angle rays of light illuminating the Aspens and Scrub Oak brings out the spectacular colors of the fall foliage. A bit of Alpenglow still highlights the mountain peaks and clouds. A Lenticular Cloud crowns Mears Peak while Dallas and Gilpin Peaks are partially hidden in clouds and Mt. Sneffels on the left peeks through a cloud still slightly pink with Alpenglow.

This original un-cropped version of this panorama consists of 57 individual 42 mega-pixel images shot with Sony a7Rii at f-14, 1/15th of a second and ISO 200 using a 140mm lens. The image cropped at a 1 : 3.85 as shown is:
