Stutfield Glacier at Columbia Icefield

July 15, 2019, 5:30PM. — Stutfield Glacier is nearby Mount Kitchener and Mount Cromwell. The snow field at the top is about 9800 ft in elevation. The valley below the sheer drop is about 6500 ft. for a drop of around 3800 ft. There are numerous waterfalls of melt run off some with drops of nearly 1000 ft. The snow cap on the top of the left peak has to be several hundred feet thick. The ice sits precariously on the craggy rocks. Arguably one of the more picturesque glaciers along the Ice Fields Parkway between Banff and Jasper.
