Mt. Sneffels Sunrise and Fall Colors

Sept. 29, 2020 on County Rd. 7 southwest of Ridgeway, CO, I nearly always try to get to this location for either sunrise or sunset anytime I am in the San Juans. This morning I thought I was getting there plenty early only to find at least 20 other photographers already sat up waiting for the sunrise. Thankfully the spot I had wanted to shoot from was unoccupied. This is another one of those problem some locations where the sun light doesn’t illuminate the valley until right towards the end of the Golden Hour. This was the last of 8 different panoramas I shoot this morning.
This original uncropped version of this panorama consists of 140 individual 50.1 mega-pixel images shot with Canon 5DSR at f/13, 1/160th second and ISO 400 using a 200mm lens. I shot this targeting for a 1:4 ratio panorama. I ended up cropping off the right 25% because that area was boring. The cropped image as shown is:

- Standard Plaque prints are available in four Finish Choices. Finishes are acid-free and ultra violet (UV) light protected, shielding it against fading and deterioration and can be wiped down with water or any ammonia-free cleaners.
