June 29, 2024 — The Mammoth Hot Springs area of Yellowstone is an area a photographer could spend days upon days, seasons upon seasons, year upon year and never capture the raw beauty of this part of Yellowstone. These terraces continuously change shape almost daily and if you visit the same spot a year later it will look totally different. This is due to the fact that as the hot mineral laden water evaporates it lays down new layers of minerals. The orange hues are caused by bacteria that grows in the hot mineral laden water.

This is another one of my focus bracketed panoramas. Shot at 135mm, f/13, 1/160th sec and ISO 400. It is made up of 2,335 individual focus bracketed images.
